Last seasons pretty florals have caught jungle fever. D
elicate daisies and roses have been replaced by palm trees, toucans, and bursting exotic flowers.
Pacific prints are everywhere you look. You cant walk into a store without feeling as thought you have got a little bit lost on a tropical island.
Using your Dad in a
Hawaiian
shirt on holiday circa 1995 as your summer style inspiration is always going to be a little bit scary...
but there is something about tropical prints that have you longing for a beach and a coconut cocktail like nothing else.
Golden rule of tropical dressing:
One paradise print piece per outfit (
unless
its a co-ord). You want to look like you have been inspired by the tropical foliage, not dressing up as an actual palm tree. I kept it very simple with black and white and a bright burnt orange-red lipstick (
MAC So Chaud
.. just in case you wondered..)
Palm trees, sandy beaches, surf boards, and bright flowers, all these prints have me thinking of retro 50's Hawaiian Air adverts.
Surfs' up. Will you be riding the tropical wave?
