Snug as a Bug in UGG

I love Christmas, but I loathe being cold. And unfortunately when you live this side and position of the hemisphere, Christmas and coldness happen to go hand in hand. Twinkling Christmas lights! Outdoor fairs! Ice skating! Carol singing! (okay, maybe not that) - these are some of the perks of the festive season. But then each of these comes laced with icy cold blasts of wind, frost-bitten fingers, unexpected rain showers, and dear god, potentially even snow. Yes, snow may make a great Instagram photo, but what it doesn't make is a nice easy route for the commuters of London - especially ones unprepared in the wardrobe department.

Every single year I put style above comfort, and end up miserable and cold wearing far too little or far too much. This year, however, with UGG Australia firmly by my side, I've managed to tackle the style vs comfort battle so that I'm never left frozen waiting for the train again. The key to keeping cosy and looking chic is all in accessorising. Cue an excuse to dress up all cliche-Christmassy and head to Winter Wonderland to test out some of UGG's winter accessories at the market stalls, sweet shops, fairground rides and of course, sipping mulled wine.

What did I learn? The power of insulation. My ears were kept toasty with UGG's black classic earmuff whilst my hands remained frost-bitten-free in the black Bailey gloves. I've always eschewed gloves, not because I'm an idiot that can't see the use of covering your extremities from the cold, but simply because I have the dinkiest hands there is and can only really fit into children's gloves. And honestly, do a pair of Minnie Mouse gloves really look sharp against your coolest coat and ripped denim? Of course not. But this pair of UGG Australia gloves fit, well, like a glove. Good ones, at that. Lined with soft sheepskin, this pair have served me well during my 6:30am trips in the ice cold winter streets to the gym.

Ultimate Gifts For Her (or You...)

Christmas is almost upon us so its time to treat your best friend to something nice. And whos a better friend to yourself than yourself? Youve both known each other for years, seen each other naked a billion times, and experienced so much together (like that time you drunk vandalised your boyfriends car... shhh, we won't tell) So go on and indulge yourself. Or simply forward this list of ultimate gifts for her (or you) to your boyfriend/parents/sugar daddy/santa for some inspiration if you think they might be struggling and you don't fancy spending the run up to Christmas practicing your best "I really love these skull and crossbones socks, Grandma" face. There's lots of Topshop goods, Mango has been a big hit this season, and of course, ASOS informing this edit of fashion, accessories, and household gifts! You can thank me later.

Black Friday & Cyber Week So Far
Oh, and don't forget to check out the pre-Black Friday sales! ASOS currently have 20% off everything and Topshop have slashed their prices by 50%. Urban Outfitters - experts at quirky gifts - are also slicing prices by up to 50%. Plus Finery London have 30% off everything, including their new season! Things marked in red are in the Pre-black Friday sales!

With fashion, its all about classic cuts and timeless styles. Nobody wants to shell out money on something that gets price-sliced a day later in the boxing day sales. Opt for buying an eternally cool-cut coat, or cosy knitwear in a muted palette thatll still feel fresh come early spring. Jeans make a surprisingly good present as they are the one item people (myself included) live in, but never really want to actually bother buying for themselves. And little gifts like luxurious calf hair makeup bags, red lace lingerie, and glistening home decor are a far more stocking thriller than stocking filler.

Christmas is all about the colour red, but luckily it's set to be huge in the new season. So get your fix of the festive hue now to maximise its potential. Snug pyjamas are always a winner. The Topshop premium joggers would look perfect with this cosy burgundy top.

Happy shopping! Remember, just by being born you were a life-long gift to your parents, so it doesn't really matter if there's only a little left in the budget for them - you're the gift that keeps on giving!

Love, Sophie x
